Bahía de las Águilas: Pack for a Beach Without Shops or Shade
This protected beach has few services; bring water and sun protection and confirm the route before setting out.

Bahía de las Águilas is beautiful partly because it remains undeveloped. The official tourism page notes that there are no hotels, shops or restaurants along the beach and advises visitors to bring sun protection.
Pack before leaving town
Bring drinking water, sun protection, a towel and any personal medication your group needs. Use reusable containers when practical and take every piece of rubbish back with you. There may be little shade on the sand.
Ask your local operator about permitted access by boat or all-terrain vehicle, departure timing and the return meeting point. Do not assume a regular car can reach the beach or that there will be food and restrooms once you arrive.
Protect the protected coast
The beach is part of Jaragua National Park. Stay on established access routes, avoid removing shells or plants, and follow local rules around swimming and wildlife.
Pedernales is far from the major resort corridor, so give the journey enough time. A longer stay can make the outing safer and more rewarding than trying to complete a very long round trip in a single day.
Dicas rápidas de planejamento
- Bring water, sun protection and essentials because services are limited.
- Confirm the access method and road or boat conditions with a local operator.
- Carry all waste out of the protected area.
